Overview

Rezumab ("we," "our," or "us") is a residency match planning tool operated by Rezumab LLC. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use rezumab.app.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use this to create and manage your account.

Profile Data

You may optionally provide academic information including your Step 2 CK score, applicant type, research experience count, and publication count. This data is used to personalize your experience (e.g., showing fit indicators on program cards, pre-filling the calculator).

Saved Programs

When you bookmark programs, we store your saved program list to your account so it persists across sessions.

Usage Data

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, device type, country). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide personalized match probability calculations
• To show fit indicators on program cards based on your saved profile
• To save and retrieve your bookmarked programs
• To pre-fill your stats across different pages (calculator, My Fit)
• To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns
• To compute anonymous cohort statistics: how crowded a specialty’s signals are, where applicants aim their gold signals, how many stay near home. These are totals only: no program is ever ranked, nothing is published about a group smaller than five people, and no statistic can link a person to a program. You can opt out at any time in Settings, and your rows are dropped the next time the statistics are rebuilt.

Research

We study how the residency application process works so applicants can plan with better information: for example, how often program signals lead to interview invites, and when invites and interviews happen. Findings may be shared in articles, at conferences and in academic journals. This research uses what you enter in Rezumab, such as your specialty, applicant type, scores, signals, saved programs, interview invites and interview dates.

• Research data is de-identified first: names, email addresses, medical school and anything else that could identify you are removed before analysis.
• Results are reported only as totals and rates for groups. Nothing is published about a group smaller than five people, and no result can be traced back to you.
• Research that uses account data is reviewed, or found exempt, by an institutional review board (IRB) before it is published.
• We may share a de-identified dataset with academic collaborators for a specific study, under a written agreement that forbids any attempt to re-identify anyone. We never share identifiable data for research and never sell data.
• You can opt out at any time with “Anonymous statistics and research” in Settings. Your data is left out of any analysis run after that. Work that is already published cannot be changed.

Data Storage

Your account and profile data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS). Row-level security ensures that you can only access your own data. We do not sell your personal data, and we share it only with the service providers listed below, to run Rezumab.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below.

Third-Party Services

• Google OAuth - for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase - for data storage and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic and OpenAI - for AI-written thank-you notes and letters, only when you ask for one. What that note is written from goes to them to draft and check it: your debrief notes for that program, the name and role of the person it is to, and the program. Both handle it under their API terms, which do not allow using it to train their models. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy and OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe - for payments. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Resend - for sending email. Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel - for hosting and analytics. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Shopping and Travel Links

The interview hub links to outside sites for interview supplies, hotels and flights. Some of these are affiliate links: if you buy or book, Rezumab may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We choose what to recommend ourselves, and no one pays to be listed. We do not share your information with these sites; what you do there is covered by their own privacy policies.

Your Rights

You may access, update, or delete your profile data at any time through the Profile page. To request full account deletion, contact us at the email below.
